The Dow Jones Index went up by 58 points or 0.11 percent on Thursday to close at 53828 points.

The rise was led by Merck (2.00%), Nike (1.90%) and Visa (1.51%).

On the downside, the weakerst performers were Cisco Systems (-8.77%), UnitedHealth (-1.57%) and McDonalds (-1.23%).
