understand how our site is used, and measure the effectiveness of our content. We use:
- Essential cookies: required for core site functionality such as authentication
and session management.

Sharing Information with Affiliates
We may share personal information with our affiliates — companies we control, are

such as providing integrated services, fulfilling transactions, and communicating about
products that may be of interest to you. All affiliates are required to honor this Policy
with respect to the information we share with them.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
Trading Economics does not sell your personal information. We may share your information
with third parties only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Companies that perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment
processing, cloud infrastructure, analytics, customer support). These parties are
contractually obligated to use your data only as directed by us and to maintain
appropriate security standards.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of
assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to
standard confidentiality protections.
- With your consent: We may share information with third parties when you
explicitly direct us to do so.
- Legal obligations: As described in the Regulatory Disclosure section below.
Regulatory Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information when required to do so by law or in response to
valid requests from public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency). This
includes cooperating with regulatory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and legal
proceedings to the extent required or permitted by applicable law. We will only disclose
the minimum information necessary to comply with such obligations.
In China, webmaster registration was completed through qpsoftware.net;
no personal user information was shared in that process.
Data Security
We take the security of your information seriously. All data transmitted between your
browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. We employ additional
safeguards including firewalls, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication
for administrative systems, and regular security reviews. While no system can guarantee
absolute security, we follow industry best practices to protect your data against
unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information,
including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, as
well as the right to data portability. You are not required to provide all information we
request; however, declining to do so may limit our ability to provide certain services.
To exercise any of these rights, or to update your personal information, please contact us
at privacy@tradingeconomics.com.
We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
Google API Services User Data Policy
The Trading Economics Sheets Add-on (available via the Google Workspace Marketplace,
project ID: tradingeconomics-sheets-add-on) integrates with Google API Services. Our use
of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User Data Policy,
including the Limited Use requirements.
1. Data Accessed
When you connect the Trading Economics Sheets Add-on to your Google Account, the
add-on requests the following OAuth scopes:
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets — read and write access to
your Google Sheets spreadsheets, used solely to insert and refresh economic data
returned by the Trading Economics API into cells you designate.
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui — permission to display
the add-on sidebar and dialog UI within Google Sheets.
The add-on does not access Gmail, Google Drive files outside the active
spreadsheet, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, or any other Google service.
2. Data Usage
Google user data accessed through the add-on is used exclusively to provide the
core functionality of the Trading Economics Sheets Add-on: retrieving economic
indicators, market data, and forecasts from the Trading Economics API and writing
the results into the cells of your active spreadsheet. Specifically:
- Spreadsheet data (cell values, ranges) is read only to the extent necessary to
identify where to write the requested data.
- Spreadsheet data is written only to cells explicitly requested by the user through
the add-on interface.
- Google user data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated
to delivering the in-spreadsheet data functionality described above.
- Google user data is never used to train machine-learning or AI models.
3. Data Sharing
Trading Economics does not share, sell, transfer, or disclose Google user data
to any third party, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Trusted sub-processors (e.g., cloud hosting, error
monitoring) that operate under confidentiality obligations and process data solely
on our behalf to operate the add-on.
- Legal obligations: Where required by applicable law, regulation, or valid
legal process (see Regulatory Disclosure above).
Google user data is never shared for purposes unrelated to providing or improving
the Trading Economics Sheets Add-on.
4. Data Storage and Protection
The Trading Economics Sheets Add-on is a server-side Google Apps Script application.
It does not persistently store the content of your spreadsheet on Trading Economics
servers. OAuth tokens issued by Google are stored securely by the Google Apps Script
platform using Google's own credential-storage infrastructure and are never written
to Trading Economics databases. Any transient data processed during an API call
(e.g., the requested indicator name and the resulting value) is held only in
short-lived server memory for the duration of the request and discarded immediately
afterwards.
All data in transit between your browser, Google's servers, and the Trading Economics
API is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Because the Trading Economics Sheets Add-on does not store Google user data on
Trading Economics servers, no Google user data is retained by us beyond the duration
of a single API request. OAuth access tokens are managed entirely by Google's
infrastructure; you can revoke the add-on's access to your Google Account at any time
by visiting
Google Account Permissions
and removing the Trading Economics Sheets Add-on.
To request deletion of any Trading Economics account data associated with your use of
the add-on, please contact us at
privacy@tradingeconomics.com.
We will process deletion requests within 30 days in accordance with applicable law.
