In New York, the Dow Jones Index dropped 264 points or 0.56 percent on Tuesday.

Losses were led by Caterpillar (-4.05%), Nvidia (-3.85%) and Boeing (-3.18%).

Offsetting the fall, top gainers were Travelers Companies (3.54%), Merck (1.75%) and Home Depot (1.19%).
