UK Trade Deficit Unchanged in April


The UK’s seasonally adjusted deficit on trade in goods and services was £2.8 billion in April, unchanged from the March figure.

The seasonally adjusted deficit on trade in goods was £7.4 billion in April, compared with the deficit of £7.7 billion in March.

The seasonally adjusted surplus on trade in services was estimated at £4.6 billion in April, compared with the surplus of £4.9 billion in March.

Excluding oil and erratic items, the seasonally adjusted volume of exports was 2.6 per cent lower and the volume of imports was 1.0 per cent lower in April, compared with March.

Total exports rose by less than £0.1 billion (0.1 per cent) to £24.6 billion, but total imports fell by £0.3 billion (0.9 per cent) to £32.0 billion.
