United States Core Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index

The so-called core PCE price index, which excludes food and energy, bounced back 0.2 percent after dipping 0.1 percent in March. Compared with the same month of the previous year, the core PCE price index increased 1.5 percent after rising 1.6 percent in March. The core PCE is the Fed's preferred inflation measure. The central bank has a 2 percent target. Core Pce Price Index in the United States averaged 60.67 Index Points from 1959 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 112.70 Index Points in April of 2017 and a record low of 17.60 Index Points in January of 1959.
