Japan Unemployment Rate Steady at 3.5%

Japan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.5 percent in November. The availability of jobs increased to its highest in more than twenty-two years.

The number of employed persons in November 2014 was 63.71 million, the same number as the previous year.

The number of unemployed persons in November 2014 was 2.19 million, a decrease of 300 thousand or 12.0% from the previous year.

The jobs-to-applicants ratio increased to 1.12 from 1.10 in the previous month, the highest since May of 1992.

The number of new job offers rose 1.2 percent in November from the previous month but fell 4.4 percent from a year earlier.
