Japan’s machine tool orders jumped by 28.1% year-on-year to JPY 193,506 million in March 2025, following a 24.2% increase in the previous month. This marked the highest monthly order value on record, driven by a 40.4% surge in foreign demand, reaching JPY 143,001 million. Domestic orders also rose 2.5% to JPY 50,505 million. On a monthly basis, machine tool orders climbed by 31.9% in March, following a 0.8% gain in February.
