Japanese Jobless Rate Lowest in 18-Years


Japan's unemployment rate fell to 3.3 percent in April compared to 3.4 percent in March and 3.6 percent in the same month of the previous year as the number of unemployed decreased and employment rose. It is the lowest unemployment rate since April of 1997.

The number of employed persons in April 2015 was 63.42 million, an increase of 40 thousand or 0.1% from the previous year.

The number of unemployed persons in April 2015 was 2.34 million, a decrease of 200 thousand or 7.9% from the previous year.
