Euro Area Inflation rate Down to 1.7% in March


Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 1.7 percent in March 2013, down from 1.8 percent in February, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, food, alcohol and tobacco is expected to have the highest annual rate in March (2.7 percent, stable compared with February), followed by services (1.9 percent compared with 1.5 percent in February), energy (1.7 percent compared with 3.9 percent in February) and non-energy industrial goods (1.0 percent compared with 0.8 percent in February).
