Compared with the previous month, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 1.1 percent to 1.81 million from 1.83 million in January, while employment rose by 0.2 percent to 40.60 million people from 40.52 million.
Compared with February of 2015, unemployment dropped 10 percent from 2.01 million people while employment rose 1.5 percent from 39.99 million people.
Youth unemployment rate was recorded at 6.9 percent, the same as in the previous month and down from 7.2 percent a year earlier.
Separate data from the Labour Office showed the number of unemployed persons was unchanged at 2.7 million in March of 2016. The unemployment rate remained unchange at record low of 6.2 percent.
