The German statistical office, Destatis, failed to give any further details about January's CPI figures and will publish its final results with a new base year on February 21st.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices are set to fall 0.8 percent in January, following a 0.1 percent gain in December and compared to market consensus of a 0.9 percent decline.
The harmonised index of consumer prices is expected to rise by 1.7 percent from the previous year; and to drop by 1 percent month-over-month.
