US stock futures edged higher on Tuesday after the major indexes opened the week with gains, supported by a recovery in technology shares.

Futures tied to the Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 each advanced at least 0.1%.

During Monday’s regular session, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 0.41% and 1.11%, respectively, rebounding from last week’s sharp selloff driven by growing concerns over AI financing.

Chipmakers and other mega-cap stocks led the recovery, with Micron gaining 3%, Nvidia rising 1.4%, Sandisk climbing 5.5%, Amazon advancing 5% and Tesla adding 3.8%.

Investors are now preparing for a busy corporate earnings schedule on Tuesday, with reports expected from General Electric, Netflix, Raytheon Technologies, United Airlines and General Motors, among others.

On the economic front, traders will also monitor housing starts and pending home sales data for further signals on the US housing market.

US Stocks Mostly Higher as Long-Term Yields Fall
US stock indices closed mostly higher on Tuesday as traditional economic sectors rebounded. The S&P 500 gained 0.3%, and the Dow rose 530 points, while the Nasdaq edged 0.1% lower. Long-term Treasury yields declined alongside energy prices, reinforcing expectations that the Fed will refrain from delivering back-to-back rate hikes at its meeting next week. Traditional sectors recovered from Monday’s losses. Banks and asset managers rebounded, Berkshire Hathaway rose 1.4%, while Goldman Sachs gained 1.1%. Healthcare stocks also advanced sharply, with Eli Lilly (+3.5%), Merck (+3.2%), and Johnson & Johnson (+2.2%) posting solid gains. US Stocks Rebound from Session Lows
US stocks swung higher as a pullback amid rebounds in traditional economic sectors. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rose 0.5% while the Dow jumped 1.2%. The yields on long-term Treasury securities declined amid a drop in key energy prices, consolidating bets that the Fed will forgo back-to-back rate hikes in its decision next week. Traditional economic sectors consolidated following yesterday's losses, with banks and asset managers rebounding sharply. A gauge tracking healthcare companies also jumped to a record high, with Eli Lilly, Merck, and J&J adding more than 4% each. Uneasiness over the AI stocks remained after South Korean Elice plunged 32% following its IPO in Seoul, the latest in a series of signals that markets have grown fatigued by the soaring levels of financing that chipmakers and data center operators are asking for. SpaceX was below the flatline ahead of its earnings after the closing bell, which may have been brought forward to enable another capital raise.
