US futures were little changed on Friday as investors looked to stabilize after a broad market selloff driven by soaring oil prices and disappointing earnings from major technology companies.
During Thursday’s regular session, the Dow lost more than 500 points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted their biggest one-day declines since June 23, falling 1.2% and 2.2%, respectively.
Brent crude climbed above $100 per barrel for the first time since late May after two Saudi oil tankers were reportedly struck in the Red Sea, intensifying concerns over Middle East supply disruptions.
Meanwhile, Tesla tumbled nearly 15% after missing second-quarter earnings expectations, marking its worst daily decline since March 2025, while Alphabet fell 7% after raising its full-year capital expenditure guidance.
The major indexes were also on track for weekly losses, with the Nasdaq leading the declines.
