US PCE Prices Rise More than Expected

The US PCE price index rose 0.2% month-over-month in July 2026, above market expectations of a 0.1% increase, following a 0.1% decline in June.
Services inflation accelerated to 0.3% from 0.1% in the previous month, while goods prices fell 0.1% (vs -0.6%).
Core PCE inflation, which excludes food and energy, increased 0.2%, as expected, following a 0.1% increase in June.
On an annual basis, headline PCE inflation remained unchanged at 3.7%, above expectations of 3.6%, while core PCE inflation also held steady at 3.3%, matching expectations.
