US Job Quits Up to 6-Month High

The number of job quits in the US rose to 3.266 million in January 2025, the highest since July 2024, from a revised 3.095 million in the prior month.
The quits rate, a metric that measures voluntary job leavers as a proportion of total employment, increased to 2.1% from 1.9% in the previous month.
Quits increased in construction (+53,000) and in mining and logging (+6,000).
Regarding regional distribution, job quits went up across the country, with the largest increases registered in the Midwest (+91,000) and the Northeast (+55,000).
