US CPI Soars 0.9% MoM in March, Most Since 2022

The Consumer Price Index in the United States increased 0.9% month-over-month in March 2026, the largest increase since June 2022, following a 0.3% gain in February and in line with forecasts.
Energy prices rose 10.9%, led by a 21.2% jump in gasoline which accounted for nearly three quarters of the increase due to the impact of the war with Iran.
The shelter index also increased, rising 0.3%.
The price for food was unchanged.
