US Wages Growth Matches Forecasts at 0.3%

Average hourly earnings for all employees on US private nonfarm payrolls, rose by 10 cents, or 0.3% over a month to $37.75 in August 2026, following an upwardly revised 0.2% gain in July and matching market forecasts.
In August, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 11 cents, or 0.3%, to $32.53.
Over the year, average hourly earnings have increased by 3.1% in August, the least since May 2021, after a 3.2% advance in July and coming just above analysts' forecasts of 3%.
