US stock indices closed higher on Monday with support from a rebound in Treasury securities.
The S&P 500 rose 1.5%, nearing it's record high, while the Dow added 693 points to close at a record 53,178 and the Nasdaq 100 gained 1.8%.
The US refrained from striking Iran over the weekend and fuel prices pulled back, lowering yields across the curve as markets readjusted the magnitude of inflation risks.
Tehran signaled progress in talks aimed at restoring shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
AI and megacap technology stocks posted gains with the rebound in risk demand, with Amazon (+4.6%) surpassing a $3 trillion market value, alongside advances in Alphabet (+4.9%), Microsoft (+4.9%), and Meta (+6%).
Chipmakers also rallied, with Nvidia (+2.9%), AMD (+1.8%), and Sandisk (+6%) posting solid gains.
Investors now await earnings from SpaceX (+5.7%) and AMD on Tuesday.
