US PCE Prices Fall as Expected

The US PCE price index decreased 0.1% month-over-month in June 2026, as expected, after a 0.5% rise in May.
Goods prices fell 0.6%, the most since November 2023, while services inflation slowed to 0.1% from 0.5% in the previous month.
The core PCE index, which excludes food and energy, increased 0.1%, following a 0.3% advance in the previous month and less than market forecasts of a 0.2% rise.
On an annual basis, headline PCE inflation eased to 3.7% from 4.1%, confirming expectations.
Core PCE inflation edged down to 3.3% from 3.4%, also in line with forecasts.
