US 1-Year Inflation Outlook Revised Higher

The year-ahead inflation outlook in the United States, as compiled by the survey of the University of Michigan, was revised up to 4.8% in May 2026, from an earlier estimate of 4.5% and compared to April's 4.7%, reaching the highest level since August last year.

Meanwhile, five-year inflation expectations were also revised to 3.9%, the highest in seven months, up from 3.4% previously and 3.5% in April.

At the same time, the five-year inflation outlook fell to 3.4% in June from an 11-month high of 3.9% in the month before.
