Comparing September - November 2015 with August - October 2015, movements in the unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) in different industry sectors varied. An increase was mainly seen in the accommodation services sector while a decrease was mainly seen in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector. As to the underemployment rate, a decrease was mainly seen in the foundation and superstructure works of the construction sector.
The number of unemployed persons (not seasonally adjusted) decreased by around 3 200 from 132 300 in August - October 2015 to 129 100 in September - November 2015. Over the same period, the number of underemployed persons also decreased by around 1 100 from 53 600 to 52 500.
Total employment in September - November 2015 was 3 790 600, about the same as that in August - October 2015 (3 789 900). Over the same period, the labour force decreased by around 2 500 from 3 922 200 to 3 919 700.
