Year-on-year, increases in prices slowed for food (excluding meals bought away from home) (+4.7 percent from +5.6 percent in March); meals bought away from home (+3.3 percent from 3.6 percent) and miscellaneous services (+1.4 percent from +3.7 percent) while accelerated for transport (+2.0 percent from +1.0 percent) and housing (+4.8 percent from +3.8 percent). In contrast, downward pressure came from durable goods (-6.2 percent from -5.1 percent); clothing and footwear (-2.2 percent from -3.7 percent) and electricity, gas and water (-0.2 percent from +0.5 percent). Meantime, miscellaneous goods (+1.1 percent) and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+0.2 percent) cost remained unchanged.
Netting out the effects of all Government's one-off relief measures, prices went up 2.3 percent, compared to 2.8 percent in the previous month.
