Futures tracking US stocks were higher on Wednesday amid strong results from AI companies.

The S&P 500 inched higher to test its record from last week, while the Dow and Nasdaq 100 hovered above the flatline.

CoreWeave surged up to 20% premarket after posting stronger than expected sales results.

Similarly, SMCI advanced nearly 10% after its revenue forecast was higher than expected by analysts.

Hyperscalers and chip producers also gained from strong results from Tencent, while Temasek took fresh stakes on SK Hynix and Samsung.

The results injected fresh optimism on AI infrastructure stocks amid their volatile start to the third quarter.

Nvidia, Oracle, and Amazon were up.

Meanwhile, incoming inflation data is expected to show core inflation slowed for a second month in July, easing pressure on the FOMC to raise interest rates next month.

Still, uncertainty on the return of energy supply from the Middle East maintained inflationary concerns.

US Futures Steady Ahead of Key Inflation Data
US stock futures were little changed on Wednesday as investors awaited a key inflation reading that could shape the Federal Reserve’s next policy decision. The consumer price index report is due later today, followed by producer inflation data on Thursday. Markets remain divided over whether the Fed will raise rates by 25 basis points in September after keeping them unchanged in July, with rising oil prices reinforcing expectations for a more hawkish stance. In corporate news, CoreWeave surged more than 14% in extended trading after the artificial intelligence spending boom lifted the company’s sales outlook. Super Micro Computer also jumped more than 7% after the data center infrastructure provider issued upbeat guidance for first-quarter earnings and revenue. Investors now turn their attention to more earnings reports on Wednesday from Cisco Systems, Cerebras and Enersys, among others.
