US futures were mixed on Thursday, as stability for traditional economic sectors weighed against volatility for the AI trade following fresh earrings results.
The S&P 500 was flat for a second session, while the Dow inched higher for another record high.
Long-term Treasury yields held the week's pullback, moving in tandem with energy prices to reflect softer concerns that the Federal Reserve will raise inters rates this year.
Some relief in the macroeconomic backdrop coincided with robust earnings, with Eli Lilly holding yesterday's results-driven surge while J&J and Goldman Sachs were higher premarket, lifting the Dow.
In turn, chip producers were sharply down to extend their volatile momentum, pressuring the Nasdaq 100 to a near 1% pullback.
Western Digital plummeted 17% after posting a disappointing guidance.
Similarly, Sandisk lost nearly 10% as its results failed to meet lofty expectations for memory producers.
