US Stocks Rebound on Monday

US stocks rose on Monday, erasing the losses from last week as drop in energy prices softened the deteriorating macroeconomic backdrop.
The S&P 500 gained 0.8%, while both the Dow and the Nasdaq 100 rose over 1%.
The US paused strikes against Iran over the weekend and benchmark fuel prices eased on hopes that energy exports from the Middle East could return.
The consequent drop in yields loosened financial conditions to reflect almost null expectations the Federal Reserve may deliver a rate hike this week, pushing back eventual tightening to September.
Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, and Apple rose up to 2% ahead of their earnings in the coming days.
Nvidia underperformed with a 0.5% loss after a $500 billion AI memory chip supply deal from SK Hynix and guaranteeing $250 billion for OpenAI to lease computing from a data center project, reigniting concerns that circular deals in AI computing could trigger contagion and unwind the AI trade should capex growth be halted.
