US House Prices Rise as Expected: FHFA

US single-family home prices backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac increased 0.1% in March 2026, as expected, following a downwardly revised 0.1% fall in February.
For the first quarter, prices rose 0.5% from the previous quarter.
Year-over-year, home values were up 1.7% between Q1 2025 and Q1 2026.
House prices rose in 42 states, with Illinois showing the strongest appreciation at 7.3%.
House prices were down in eight states and the District of Columbia.
Colorado experienced the most significant price decline at 2.4%
