US Futures Pull Back Further

US equity futures were mostly lower as markets refrained from assuming more risk ahead of the US PPI release.
Contracts for the S&P 500 inched down and those for the Nasdaq dropped 0.7%, while the Dow was flat.
Producer prices are expected to have jumped 0.4% from the previous month in August as the war in Iran lifted wholesale energy prices.
Oil and fuel benchmarks have gained further since the start of September on fresh escalation in the war and the increase in buying from Asia, adding to pressure on equities amid the possibility of a Federal Reserve rate hike next week.
Chip producers fell amid their exposure to long-dated credit costs, with Marvell, Intel, and Lam Research down 3% premarket.
Nvidia dropped 1% and Oracle fell 1% ahead of its earnings after the bell.
