US Stocks Rise to Records

US stocks rose sharply on Tuesday amid an improving macroeconomic backdrop as key earnings will offer updates on the AI trade.
The S&P 500 rose 1% and the Dow gained 70 points to new records, while the Nasdaq 100 added 2%.
Fuel and natural gas prices fell after Qatar signaled progress toward a short-term deal between the US and Iran, limiting inflationary risks and driving benchmark yields to hold their pullback.
Palantir soared over 15% after raising its forecasts on the back of strong commercial sales.
Meanwhile, industrial bellwether Caterpillar gained nearly 10% after beating its earnings estimates.
AI hypersaclers were mixed following their surge yesterday, which stretched the ongoing period of outperformance to AI infrastructure companies, reversing the trend from late in June.
AMD and SpaceX were higher ahead of their earnings after the bell.
The former will offer more updates on compute capacity demand by AI companies, and the latter trades 40% down from its record.
