Futures tracking US equities were firmly higher on Thursday, trimming losses from the previous session following a batch of corporate earnings.
Contracts for the S&P 500 and the Dow were over 0.5% higher, while those for the Nasdaq 100 gained 1.5%.
Microsoft surged nearly 10% premarket after posting a 43% growth in Azure revenue, the most since 2022 and ahead of expectations.
This combined with capital expenditure forecasts that did not outpace expectations, limiting concerns of unsustainable AI spending.
The result coincided with some respite for chip producers following their selloff yesterday, with Micron and Sandisk rising 3%.
Conversely, Meta tanked 10% after its guidance missed expectations, while markets remained skeptical on whether its AI labs will drive revenue as signaled by the hyperscaler.
Meanwhile, long-dated yields held their surge after the Fed Chair Warsh's reluctance to signal the Fed may raise rates triggered concerns that inflation could be higher for longer.
