US stocks remained higher in after-hour trading on Wednesday after Nvidia posted results that topped estimates.

Nvidia shares pared immediate losses after the release of results to trade over 0.5% higher, following a near 2% gain in the regular Wednesday session.

Revenues for the April quarter topped $81 billion, as expected, but the forecast of $91 billion in revenues for the July quarter fell short of expectations by select analysts, contrasting slightly with the usual comfortable beats in outlooks.

The company also refrained from forecasting any sales to China, despite CEO Jensen Huang's visit to Beijing earlier this month.

The S&P 500 added 1% on the Wednesday session while the Dow and Nasdaq 100 gained 1.2%.

Three supertankers left the Strait of Hormuz with full cargoes as President Trump stated a deal with Iran could come soon, taming concerns of energy inflation.

Meanwhile, TJX and Target gained sharply after posting their results.

US Stocks Hold Rebound
US stocks closed higher on Wednesday with support from lower energy prices ahead of Nvidia's earnings results, due to update the state of the AI economy that has supported the stock market this year. The S&P 500 added 1% while the Dow and Nasdaq 100 gained 1.2%. Three supertankers left the Strait of Hormuz with full cargoes as President Trump stated a deal with Iran could come soon, taming concerns of energy inflation. Nvidia gained 1.5% as it is likely to confirm sharp growth in earnings and orders, but the tone of its guidance is due to impact the whole tech sector as AI spending has carried the US investment and underpin productivity growth and infrastructure expenditure in coming years. The AI sector was also supported by reports that OpenAI is preparing to file for an IPO as soon as Friday, paving the way for more AI spending. Meanwhile, TJX and Target were both higher following their results. Broader sectors were also higher as yields retreated, despite hawkish Fed minutes.
