US equity futures were firmly higher on Wednesday, rebounding from losses this week amid an extension to the ceasefire in Iran and strong signals from corporate earnings.
Contracts for the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Dow were around 0.5% higher, with the two former testing record highs.
President Trump announced the current ceasefire with Iran would be extended indefinitely, backtracking the earlier threat to attack the country to postpone any imminent escalation that could magnify the global energy crunch.
Still, uncertainty remained after Iran struck and seized commercial vessels.
Heavyweight companies with exposure to AI rose premarket as the risk-on pivot helped speculative sectors, with Amazon, Oracle, and Microsoft adding over 1%.
Datacenter demand also benefited GE Vernovia, which was 7% higher after posting a strong guidance.
Meanwhile, AT&T was higher after beating revenues and earnings estimates.
Tesla inched higher ahead of its earnings after the bell.
