US Stocks Attempt a Rebound

The three major US indices pared early losses to trade around the flatline on Thursday, with the Dow Jones recovering from an initial drop of around 600 points.
Both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq had fallen more than 1% earlier in the session before rebounding.
A report that Iran is drafting a protocol with Oman to monitor traffic through the Strait of Hormuz helped to ease some pressure but volatility is expected to persist amid escalating rhetoric from President Trump and as crude prices remain near 2022 highs.
Yesterday, Trump pledged to take more aggressive action against Iran.
Consumer discretionary stocks underperformed, while energy, utilities, and real estate led gains.
Tesla shares fell about 4% after reporting weak first-quarter deliveries.
Meta declined roughly 1%, while Nvidia rose 0.3% and Netflix gained around 2%.
The US stock market will be closed on Friday for the Easter holiday.
