US Energy Prices Rebound

Energy prices in the US rose by 0.2% year-on-year in August 2025, after a 1.6% decline in July, ending six straight months of deflation.
Prices increased for utility piped gas (13.8% vs 13.8% in July) and electricity (6.2% vs 5.5%), while declines eased for gasoline (-6.6% vs -9.5%) and fuel oil (-0.5% vs -2.9%).
On a monthly basis, energy prices rose by 0.7% in August, after a 1.1% decrease in the previous month.
