Mexican Economy Expands 0.45% in Q3


The Gross Domestic Product in Mexico grew 0.45% when compared to the previous quarter. The annual growth rate was 3.3% according to a release by the National Statistics Institute.

The services sector recorded a growth rate of 0.73% month-on-month and 3.3% with respect to the same period last year. To this variation contributed primarily the growth of information and media, finance and insurance, trade and real estate.

Industry expanded 0.71% on a monthly base and 3.6% year-on-year. Driving the industry sector growth is the positive evolution in: manufacturing (4.1%), construction (4%), electricity, water and gas supply (2.7%) and mining (1.8%).

The agriculture sector increased by 1.7% when compared with the same quarter last year but decreased 0.55% compared to the previous quarter.
