Price increases for clothing and shoes (7.2 percent) contributed upwards by 0.4 percentage points to the change from February to March. More expensive international air fares (12.8 percent) contributed upwards by 0.1 percentage point. Higher electricity prices (0.7 percent) and higher rents (0.3 percent) contributed together upwards by another 0.1 percentage point.
The increase was offset by lower fuel prices (-2.3 percent) and lower costs for mortgage loans (-1.3 percent) which contributed downwards by 0.1 percentage point each from February to March.
HICP increased by 0.5 percent from February 2013 to March 2013 and increased by 0.5 percent since March of 2012.
