Yancoal Australia Ltd is an Australia-based coal producer and coal exporters, producing premium thermal and metallurgical coal. The Company’s business activity is the production of thermal and metallurgical coal for use in the power generation and steel industries in Asian markets. It owns and operates several mines and mine sites across Australia. It owns or operates eight producing coal mines across New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. Its mines include Moolarben, Mount Thorley Warkworth, Hunter Valley Operations, Ashton, Yarrabee, Cameby Downs, Middlemount, and Premier Coal. Its thermal coal is primarily used in electricity generation and its end users are typically power and utilities companies. The Moolarben Coal Complex is located approximately 40 kilometers north of Mudgee in Western Coalfields of New South Wales. Mount Thorley Warkworth is an integrated operation consisting of the open cut coal mining operations of Mount Thorley Operations and Warkworth Mine.
