US equity futures inched higher on Tuesday, approaching the records from last week on support from a pullback in energy prices.
Contracts for the S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq 100 were around 0.3% higher.
Oil and product prices eased despite no improvement from yesterday's escalatory developments, when Iran attacked the UAE and accusations of strikes between the US and Iran jeopardized the ceasefire in place over the last weeks.
Higher energy prices drove long-term yields to fresh peaks for the year and rate futures indicated some bets of a Fed hike this year, as high and broad inflation combine with evidence of a strong labor market.
Earnings also remained in the spotlight.
Pfizer was 1% higher pre-market after posting their results.
Also, Intel gained over 4% on reports that it may produce processors for Apple devices.
Amazon also gained on fresh additions of logistics and distribution services.
In turn, Palantir dropped 3% after missing the market's ambitious guidance estimates.
