US equity futures were higher on Wednesday ahead of Nvidia’s earnings report, expected to provide fresh signals on the sustainability of artificial intelligence demand.

Contracts for the S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq 100 were around 0.4% higher.

The processor giant was 1% up premarket, tracking the momentum for chip producers as its earnings growth is expected to rise further, serving as a bellwether for strong orders in the sector.

Also, AMD added 1% to extend Tuesday's 9% surge after Meta unveiled a multiyear agreement to deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD’s graphics processing units across its AI-focused data centers.

Software names also participated in the rally, with Salesforce and IBM holding gains as markets reassessed skepticism over the durability of legacy service models.

In the meantime, President Trump's rhetoric on the State of the Union speech did not seem to signal that higher tariffs on all countries will be prioritized after the SCOTUS struck down IEEPA measures.
