US Futures Hold Pullback

Futures tracking US equities were lower on Monday, trimming gains from last session as uncertainty over the future of US economic policy drove markets to trim positions on riskier assets.

Contracts for the S&P 500 and the Dow were 0.4% lower and those for the Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.6%.

US President Trump raised 15% tariffs on all countries under Section 122 economic emergency, with counterparties lacking clarity on how those would match against current trade deals, and how the administration would attempt to extend tariffs as Congress is unlikely to accept the measures.

The moves followed the Supreme Court's decision to strike down tariffs targeted against countries since April of last year.

Gilead fell 1.5% after it agreed to buy Arcellx for $7.8 billion.

Nvidia was slightly lower ahead of its earnings this week.

Also, asset managers with exposure to private credit were also lower, extending recent plunges after Blue Owl blocked redemptions on one of its funds last week.
