US Wage Growth Slightly Below Forecasts

The average hourly earnings for all employees on US private nonfarm payrolls rose by 6 cents, or 0.2% over a month, to $36.06 in April 2025, following a 0.3% increase in March and just below market forecasts of 0.3%.
In April, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 10 cents, or 0.3%, to $31.06.
Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 3.8% in April, matching March's rate and slightly below estimates of 3.9%.
