Spain Inflation Rate Down to 2.4% in March

The annual variation of the flash estimate of the CPI stands at 2.4 percent in the month of March. The annual variation of the flash estimate of the HICP, in accordance with the Eurostat standards, is 2.6 percent.

According to the flash estimate issued by the INE, the annual inflation of the CPI in March  2013 was expected to be 2.4 percent. This indicator provides a preview of the CPI that, if confirmed, would imply a decrease of four tenths of its annual rate, since in February this variation was 2.8 percent.

This result is mainly a consequence of the decrease in the prices of fuels and lubricants.

According to the flash estimate of CPI, consumer prices registered a 0.4% increase as compared with the month of February.
