Swiss Inflation Rate Declines in November

The Swiss consumer price index fell 0.2% on the month, and 0.5% on the year in November, as the strong franc pushed automobile and food costs lower, outweighing higher energy and accommodation costs.

New and used car prices slipped 1.9% from October, while Swiss energy and rental costs rose 0.7% on the month. The strong franc helped pushed the cost of imports down 2.7% on the year, compared with a gain of 0.3% in locally produced goods, it said.
