Construction output in Switzerland jumped 6.1 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017, recovering from a 2.3 percent fall in the previous period. Civil engineering rebounded 10.4 percent after declining by 1 percent in the first quarter; and specialised construction activities grew by 6 percent, compared with a 3.9 percent contraction in the previous period. Also, building construction expanded 3.9 percent, faster than a 2.5 percent gain in the previous period. Construction Output in Switzerland averaged 1.11 percent from 2000 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 8.90 percent in the fourth quarter of 2005 and a record low of -7.90 percent in the fourth quarter of 2001.
