Swiss Inflation Quickens In September


Switzerland's annual inflation rose to 0.5 percent in September from 0.2 percent in August, the Federal Statistical Office reported on October 6.

On a monthly comparison, consumer prices moved up 0.3 percent in September, faster than the expected 0.1 percent rise.

Clothing and footwear logged the biggest growth of 8.7 percent annually. Food and non-alcoholic beverages cost dipped 4 percent and alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices dropped 2.5 percent.
