Swiss Inflation Rate Slows in July

Swiss consumer prices rose 0.5 percent year-on-year after climbing 0.6 percent in June.

At the same time, consumer prices dropped 0.8 percent on a monthly basis in July, steeper than the expected drop of 0.6 percent. Clothing and footwear cost plunged 12.2 percent and transportation cost dropped 0.9 percent. The decrease in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was 0.8 percent.
