Alcoholic beverages and tobacco recorded the highest increase (15.8 percent), followed by food (10.1 percent), health (9.4 percent) and education (8.2 percent). Cost of housing, water, electricity and gas rose 5.4 percent and transport increased 5.1 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose at a slower 0.2 percent in August, compared with a 0.5 percent increase in July.
