Compania Nationala de Transport al Energiei Electrice Transelectrica SA is a Romania-based electric company. It is active in the electricity transmission, organization of the Romanian power system and electricity market management. Its activities are divided into four segments. The Transmission Services segment consists in ensuring the technical conditions and maintaining the parameters of electricity during the injection/extraction of energy in/from the transmission network. The Balancing Market is responsible for issuing green certificates on the energy market to the energy producers from regenerative energy source and settling the obligations derived from green certificate trade, repairs and maintenance of the transmission equipment. The Technological System Service provides technical services. The Technological System Services operates and maintenances its assets. In April 2014, a 58% of its stakes were transferred to the General Secretariat of the Romanian Government.
