Compared with the previous month, the number of unemployed was almost unchanged at 996 thousand and the number of employed fell by 0.3 percent to 3.76 million.
A year earlier, the unemployment rate was recorded at 23.3 percent. The number of unemployed persons fell by 10.7 percent while employment grew by 2.6 percent.
The 15-24 age group recorded the highest unemploment rate (43.7 percent vs 46.1 percent in November 2016), followed by the 25-34 age group (26.2 percent vs 29.5 percent), the 35-44 age group (18.6 percent vs 19.9 percent), the 45-54 age group (16.6 percent vs 18.8 percent), the 55-64 age group (17.3 percent vs 19.7 percent) and the 65-74 age group (11.6 percent vs 12.8 percent).
The unemployment rate among women decreased to 25.8 percent in November from 27.8 percent a year earlier, while among men it fell to 17.1 percent from 19.7 percent.
Among the country's regions, the highest unemployment rates were reported for Epirus-Western Macedonia (26 percent), followed by Peloponnese, Western Greece and Ionian Islands (22.1 percent), Attica (21.2 percent) and Aegean Islands (21.1 percent); while Crete recorded the lowest rate (17.1 percent).
