Pakistan Inflation Up to 8.1% in January


In the 12 months through January, inflation rose to 8.1 percent, the highest value since last November.

The categories which recorded the highest price increases were: alcoholic beverages and tobacco (18.24 percent); recreation and culture (17.59 percent); clothing and footwear (15.27 percent); health care (13.69 percent); transportation (10.89 percent); miscellaneous goods and services (10.49 percent) and restaurants and hotels (10.39 percent).

On month over month basis, the CPI increased 1.67 percent and stood above the 0.23 percent increased registered in December 2012.
