Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices remained unchanged recording an average year-on-year inflation rate of 3.9 percent.
The non-food prices increased 11.5 percent with education recording the highest rate of 21.9 per cent followed by alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics with 17 percent.
On the month over month basis, the CPI in January rose 2.1 percent as against 0.7 percent recorded in December 2012.
